MarketMaker is operated by Erman Atalay ("we", "us", "our"), the data controller for the information we process to provide the MarketMaker mobile game (the "App") and playmarketmaker.com (the "Website"). You can contact us at support@playmarketmaker.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Account & Device Information. When you first open the App, we create a guest account identified by a randomly generated account ID. We store your display name, account settings, device/session identifiers used for authentication, and account activity timestamps. You do not need to provide your real name, email address, or phone number to play. If you choose to link a sign-in provider, such as Google, Facebook, or Apple where available, we receive the provider's account identifier and, where available, your email address to authenticate and identify your linked account. A guest account is pseudonymous, rather than a guarantee that its data cannot be linked to you.
Purchase Information. If you make an in-app purchase, we receive purchase/transaction data from Apple App Store or Google Play (such as product ID, transaction ID, and purchase timestamp) to verify your purchase and grant you the corresponding in-game entitlement. We do not receive or store your payment card details — payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
Gameplay Data. We store supported challenge progress and granted entitlements on our servers to operate and restore those features. Other progress, including Academy lesson progress and in-game credits, is stored on your device; linking an account does not mean that all local progress is backed up or restored on another device. Optional Academy analytics, described below, are usage records and are not a cloud-save service.
Optional Gameplay Analytics. Only if you enable gameplay analytics, we collect account-linked usage events to understand and improve the game and Academy. These include session activity; Academy visits and prior lesson-completion status; lesson and level identifiers; lesson starts, stages, completions, exits and progress checkpoints; time spent actively in lessons; wrong-answer counts in supported lessons; and Academy closing-lesson and node-completion activity. Events also contain event, session and lesson-attempt identifiers, timestamps, platform, app/build and content-catalog versions, and delivery-health information. These events are associated with your backend account ID, including for guest accounts; they are not anonymous. The event payload does not include your email address or authentication tokens. We process these events on our backend and use restricted administrator reports to improve the product; we do not send this first-party event stream to Meta or Google advertising services.
Your Analytics Choice. Gameplay analytics is off until you opt in. The Welcome screen offers a separate, unchecked option, and you can enable or disable it in Settings for the active account on that device. You can play without enabling analytics. Turning it off stops new analytics collection and clears unsent events from that device; it does not delete events already received by our servers. Account switching resets the local choice. This choice is separate from accepting the Terms, essential account/security processing, and advertising privacy choices.
Diagnostic & Technical Data. Our backend automatically collects technical information about requests to our servers (such as timestamps, error details, and performance metrics) through Microsoft Azure Application Insights, to help us monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the App. We do not use this diagnostic data to create advertising profiles or to identify individual users for marketing purposes.
Advertising Data & Choices. The App uses Google AdMob. Depending on the platform, settings, and applicable consent, Google's advertising SDK may process IP addresses (including to estimate general location), advertising or app/device identifiers, app/ad interactions, and diagnostic/performance information for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention, under Google's Privacy Policy. We use Google's User Messaging Platform to update advertising consent information and show a consent form when required. Where Google requires access to privacy options, an Ad privacy options button is available in Settings to review your choices. You can also use your device's advertising privacy controls. Refusing personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all advertising-related processing. Advertising choices do not enable our optional gameplay analytics, and disabling gameplay analytics does not change your advertising choices.
Website Contact & Account Deletion. If you submit the Website contact form, we store the subject, your message, an optional reply email address, submission time, and request-handling status. For web account deletion, we process a sign-in token or recovery code to verify ownership and identify the account to delete. If you choose a recovery QR image, it is decoded in your browser; the recovered code, rather than the image, is sent for verification. Do not send passwords, payment card details, or unrelated sensitive information in support messages.
Website Services. Hosting, network delivery, fonts, and sign-in resources may receive technical request information such as your IP address and browser information. The Website uses Google Fonts and Google's sign-in script; the Facebook sign-in script is loaded when you choose Facebook verification. Facebook Login also processes authentication-related data when used in the App. We do not use Facebook App Events for our first-party gameplay reports. The updated App configuration disables automatic Facebook app-event logging and advertiser-ID collection; older installed versions may use earlier SDK settings, so keep the App updated.
We use this information to provide and secure accounts and supported gameplay features; verify purchases and restore entitlements; respond to support and deletion requests; diagnose problems; improve lessons and the game using optional analytics; and provide advertising subject to applicable privacy choices.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are performance of our agreement with you for requested account/gameplay services and purchase verification; your consent for optional gameplay analytics and advertising processing where consent is required; our legitimate interests in service reliability, security, fraud prevention, and handling support requests, subject to your rights; and compliance with legal obligations where applicable. Withdrawing optional consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
We use Microsoft Azure for backend/database hosting, website hosting, and technical monitoring; Cloudflare for DNS, network/security services, and administrator hosting; Apple and Google for store distribution and purchase processing/verification; Google for AdMob, consent messaging, sign-in and website fonts; and Meta/Facebook for Facebook sign-in and account verification. Each receives information needed for its role. Advertising and sign-in providers may also process data under their own policies: Google, Meta, Apple, Microsoft, and Cloudflare.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims. Our infrastructure and service providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. The providers' privacy notices linked above describe their international processing and transfer safeguards. Contact us for information about the processing locations and transfer arrangements relevant to your data.
Data is transmitted between the App and our servers using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Sensitive credentials are stored using industry-standard secret management, and access to production systems is restricted.
Analytics. Our server retention period for raw gameplay analytics is 180 days, followed by automatic periodic deletion. Deletion is performed by a background cleanup process, rather than at the exact expiry second. Unsent analytics are stored in a size-limited queue on your device while waiting for a connection. They expire after 7 days and are discarded when the App next processes the local queue; they may be removed earlier when delivered, when queue limits are reached, or when analytics is disabled or the account changes. Your local analytics preference is stored separately.
Account Deletion. While your account is active, we retain account records, supported server-side gameplay progress, and entitlements to provide those features. You can delete your account in the App through Profile → Danger Zone, or use Contact → Account Deletion on this Website. Deletion removes linked sign-in identities, server-side challenge progress, entitlements, and that account's raw analytics events from the active application database, replaces the display name, invalidates recovery credentials, and revokes refresh sessions. This cannot be undone. Local-only saves on other installations and records independently held by a store or advertising provider are not erased by deleting our server account.
Retained Records. Purchase/transaction records (including store transaction IDs, purchase tokens, and status), a limited deleted-account record, and revoked authentication/session records may remain for transaction history, refunds, disputes, security, and fraud prevention. These can retain account and device identifiers; we do not describe them as fully anonymous. We do not currently apply a fixed automatic deletion period to these retained records or to contact/support submissions. They are retained for the purposes described here; contact us to request review or deletion, subject to applicable legal and security requirements. Technical service logs and backups follow their separate service retention cycles, so removal from the active database does not mean immediate erasure from every backup or third-party system.
If you cannot use the deletion options, or want to request deletion of previously collected analytics without deleting your account, contact support@playmarketmaker.com. We may need to verify account ownership before handling a request.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where local law requires a higher age or parental authorization for consent-based processing, those requirements also apply. If you believe a child has provided information contrary to these requirements, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to your local data protection authority. You may also have rights concerning the sale or sharing of information for advertising under applicable US state law. To exercise a right, contact support@playmarketmaker.com. We may verify your identity and explain any legally permitted exception.
You can withdraw optional gameplay-analytics consent in Settings on the relevant device and review advertising consent through Ad privacy options where available. These are independent controls. For deletion of already received data and retained-record exceptions, see Section 5.
We may update this Privacy Policy and will revise the effective date when we do. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where required. Updating this policy or continuing to use the App does not itself opt you into optional analytics or replace advertising consent.

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the MarketMaker mobile application (the "App"), operated by Erman Atalay under the MarketMaker name ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms, subject to your mandatory rights under applicable law. Contact: support@playmarketmaker.com.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial entertainment, subject to these Terms.
The App creates a guest account with a randomly generated account ID and may let you link a sign-in provider. You are responsible for maintaining access to your linked sign-in account and keeping any recovery code private. Reinstalling without a way to recover the previous account may create a new guest account.
Supported challenge progress and account entitlements may be restored from our servers. Academy lesson progress and other local-only saves are stored on the device; account linking and analytics do not guarantee their backup, synchronization, or recovery after reinstalling or changing devices. Deleting an account removes access and entitlements associated with that account, subject to mandatory purchase/refund rights and the retention exceptions in our Privacy Policy.
The App may offer optional in-app purchases ("IAP") for virtual items or features. All purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies. Virtual items have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real money.
Academy lessons may be unlocked through in-game progression/credits or an available Academy unlock purchase. In-game credits are game resources, not money, investments, or a claim to payment, and cannot be redeemed for cash. The product description shown at purchase defines the features included. An Academy unlock grants access to its included content; it does not complete lessons or restore local lesson progress.
Remove Ads suppresses the App's forced/interstitial advertising. It does not remove optional rewarded advertisements you choose to watch, such as a rewarded continue. Purchase verification and restoration depend on the relevant store purchase and supported account linkage; they do not create a general cloud backup of gameplay saves. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer or refund rights.
You agree not to reverse-engineer or tamper with the App; use cheats, bots, or exploits; interfere with the App's servers or other users' experience; or use the App for any unlawful purpose.
MarketMaker is an educational trading-simulation game. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, or trading advice, and no in-game activity reflects real financial markets or guarantees real-world trading results.
The App may display advertisements served by Google AdMob, including optional rewarded advertisements. Advertising consent and privacy choices are managed separately from these Terms and from optional gameplay analytics. See our Privacy Policy for data handling and available controls. Accepting these Terms does not enable optional gameplay analytics; you can play without enabling it.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms and will revise the effective date when we do. For material changes, we will provide notice or seek acceptance where required by applicable law. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance only where permitted by law. It does not constitute consent to optional analytics or advertising processing.
